About this spot

Bedrock Falls is a real, documented waterfall on the Whitewater River near Cashiers, one of six named drops (with 55 MPH, Big Ledge, Wheelchair Accessible, Portage Left, and Exit Falls) along a notoriously difficult, largely off-trail hike rated among the hardest in the region. It's a modest 15-foot multi-channel slide; a downed tree currently blocks the classic view. No source documents swimming or jumping specifically at this drop. The real hazard is getting there: unmarked scrambles, slick rock, and sections that cross private land near Heady Mountain. Trekking poles and low water are essential; avoid after rain.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
