About this spot

Despite its name, this is not an accessible waterfall — it's an ironic hiker nickname for the smallest, least scenic of six falls on a notoriously rugged, largely off-trail Whitewater River hike near Cashiers. It's a modest 10-foot sliding drop with no documented swimming or jumping culture. The name appears consistently across regional trip reports and waterfall guides, confirming it's a real, if minor, feature. Access requires unmarked scrambling, rope-assisted sections, and river crossings that are hazardous in high water. Land is a mix of Nantahala National Forest and private Heady Mountain community frontage.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
