About this spot

This Camp Branch Falls is a small roadside cascade where Camp Branch meets the Nantahala River near Topton, corresponding to the Class III+ rapid mapped at roughly river mile 0.8 and visible from Wayah Road. Note there is a separate, unrelated "Camp Branch Falls" near Wayah Bald in Macon County with a hiking trail and plunge pool; this pin is on the Nantahala River corridor, not that trailhead. No swimming or jumping culture is documented at this location.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
