About this spot

Whiteoak Falls sits on Whiteoak Creek just above its confluence with the Nantahala River, visible from Wayah Road near Topton. It marks the top of "The Cascades," a steep, technical whitewater section runnable only during scheduled Duke Energy releases and considered expert-only due to tight lines and serious hazards. This is a roadside scenic/kayaking feature, not an established swimming or cliff-jumping spot, and no such culture was found documented.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
