About this spot
Brice Creek Falls sits on Brice Creek Road (NF-17) about 20 miles east of Cottage Grove in the Umpqua National Forest, roughly 0.3 miles upstream from Cedar Creek Campground. A short, easy path off the road - well under a mile round trip - leads to a rocky canyon pool fed by the creek, with jump ledges of varying heights suited to both first-timers and experienced jumpers, plus flat rocks for sunbathing. Water is cold mountain runoff and clearest in summer after spring flows drop; levels and current speed vary with snowmelt and rain, so check conditions before jumping. Submerged rocks and slick, moss-covered ledges are the main hazards. No fees or permits are required for day use.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
