About this spot
From Portland, travel north on I-205 to exit 22 toward The Dalles, then continue on I-84. About 5 miles beyond Hood River, take exit 69 at Mosier. Turn left at the stop sign heading back toward Hood River. Watch for signage for Koberg Beach State Park and take the subsequent rest area exit. This location features a substantial rock formation with jump options spanning from 2 feet up to 150 feet. Higher jumps require traversing around the rock, and increased elevation means a longer return swim to shore. A jet ski provides an efficient way to address the extended swimming distance.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
