About this spot

This location near Scranton, Pennsylvania is accessible via Route 80 west to Route 380 south, followed by I81/I84 toward the Scranton Expressway exit. Once in town, turn right at the first traffic light onto Mulberry Street and continue approximately 3 miles uphill, passing a hospital on your left and then a public swimming pool and zoo. Park in the lot on your right and descend the steps to view the gorge. The waterfall produces roughly 15 feet of drop and creates a strong current that makes swimming challenging but allows for sitting beneath it. Multiple jump locations are available: a 30-foot cliff, a 60-foot option across from it, and a 90-foot formation locals call "killer," which offers approximately 4 seconds of airtime. An incline on the 40-foot cliff enables running jumps for extended flight time. A rope swing exists further back in the wooded area. Water conditions are suitable for drinking. The landing surface is firm, so wear shoes with good grip for safety.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
