About this spot
Located in Scranton, Pennsylvania, this spot is accessible via Route 80 west to Route 380 south, then connecting to I81/I84. Follow the Scranton expressway exit into town. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Mulberry Street and continue approximately 3 miles uphill, passing a hospital on your left and then a public swimming pool and zoo. Park in the lot on your right as you enter the area. Steps lead down to the swimming hole with a scenic overlook visible immediately upon descent. The waterfall measures roughly 15 feet and creates noticeable current, though swimmers can position themselves directly under it for a relaxing experience. Multiple jumping heights are available: the primary cliff reaches about 30 feet, with another across from it at approximately 60 feet, and a third formation locals call "killer" standing at roughly 90 feet and offering approximately 4 seconds of airtime. A 40-foot cliff near the overlook location features an incline that allows for a running start and extended flight. The water impact is firm, so footwear is recommended. A rope swing is located deeper within the surrounding wooded area. The water quality is potable.
