About this spot

Rocky Branch Falls is a 40-foot cascade on Rocky Branch, reached via a short scramble off the Hospital Rock Trail near Marietta, SC — trailhead behind the fish hatchery on Jones Gap Road, about 1.6 miles in past Powerline Falls and Hospital Rock Falls upstream. The Jones Gap area charges a day-use fee and requires trail registration, with weekend parking reservations enforced. Swimming is officially prohibited throughout the park — only wading in the Middle Saluda is allowed — and the approach rocks stay slick. No specific jump or swim trip reports were found for this fall; it reads as a hiking destination rather than an established swimming hole.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
