About this spot
Remote ~60ft multi-tier waterfall on Crane Creek in Sumter National Forest near Mountain Rest, SC, ending in a deep pool along a narrow granite outcrop. Reached only via a difficult ~1.8-mile bushwhack partly off the Winding Stairs Trail -- guides warn it should not be attempted without off-trail hiking/map experience. The deep pool suggests it's plausibly swimmable, but no trip reports document established swimming or jumping activity there specifically. Distinct from the unrelated 'Secret Falls' near Highlands, NC and at DuPont.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
