About this spot
Jim Lee Falls is a roughly 25 ft cascade on Lee Branch near Mountain Rest, in Oconee County's Sumter National Forest. There is no official trail; reaching it means navigating a maze of unmarked logging roads through land that borders private property, so off-trail experience and a map are required. Waterfall-enthusiast sites describe a small plunge pool at the base suitable for wading and cooling off, but no independent trip reports confirm regular swimming or jumping here. Footing on the approach and around the wet rock apron is the main hazard. Treat property lines seriously on the way in - some approach routes skirt private land.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
