About this spot
40-50ft, 75ft-wide tiered waterfall reached by an easy, well-marked ~1.5-mile trail from the Yellow Branch Picnic Ground on SC-28 near Walhalla, in Sumter National Forest (picnic ground open 6am-10pm). Multiple guides say there is no true swimming hole, though visitors wade and splash at the base; one account notes risky rock-hopping at the top of the falls, which is not an endorsed activity. Best flow and warmth May-September.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
