About this spot

Starting from Boone, NC, head north on 321 for 23 miles into Tennessee, then turn right onto TN-67 North and continue approximately 0.7 miles until reaching the bridge. Parking is available on either side of the structure, though walking on the bridge itself is prohibited. This location remains highly illegal for jumping, with jumpers subject to reckless endangerment citations and potentially attempted suicide charges. Only a handful of successful jumps have been documented at this site. The jump itself is substantial enough to affect body positioning—jumpers at heights of 45 feet or greater may rotate unpredictably through the air. Landing impact is severe, causing significant bruising to the lower legs and pronounced muscle soreness lasting several days afterward. The bridge crosses over water with sufficient depth to accommodate the jump. Access requires waiting for clear conditions, as boat traffic in the area can be frequent, particularly during holiday periods.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
