About this spot

Imodium Falls (also called Little Possum Creek Falls) sits along the Cumberland Trail's Possum Creek Gorge section near Soddy-Daisy, reached by a rugged roughly 5-mile round-trip hike past Stack Rock — free public land, no fee, but no formal trailhead lot. The falls drop about 25 feet into a plunge pool documented by hikers and the Cumberland Trail Conservancy as a swimming hole. The creek above is a feared Class V kayak run, paddled only at precise water levels; the falls reportedly got its name from kayakers joking they'd need the medicine before running it. The real hazard is the approach itself: steep, rocky trail with creek crossings that turn dangerous after rain. Access is legal on Cumberland Trail State Park land, but conditions vary with rainfall.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
