About this spot
Little Possum Falls sits on Little Possum Creek in the Cumberland Trail's Possum Creek Gorge section near Soddy-Daisy. The tnlandforms database lists a 'Little Possum Cascade' at only 9 feet, shorter than the 25-foot figure here, and hikers/paddlers separately describe a drop on this creek nicknamed 'Imodium Falls' -- a Class V ledge with a swimmable plunge pool -- though it's unconfirmed whether that's this exact feature. Reaching the water means an unmaintained, rugged descent into the gorge over slick sandstone.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
