About this spot

Twin Falls is a well-known swimming hole on Barton Creek in Austin's Barton Creek Greenbelt, reached via the Greenbelt Trail or the 360/Capital of Texas Highway access point. A tall limestone bluff over a deep pool draws jumpers from multiple ledges ranging roughly 15 to 100 feet, making this one of the more serious cliff-jumping spots in the greenbelt system — scout each ledge and check landing depth before jumping. Water is spring-fed and usually clear, but depth and current shift with rainfall; avoid jumping after heavy rain when the creek runs high and murky, or during drought when pools can go shallow. The approach trail is rocky and uneven. Parking-lot break-ins are common at greenbelt trailheads, so leave valuables at home. Access is free, unrestricted public parkland.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
