About this spot

Walling Bend Park sits on Lake Whitney's western shore off FM 2841, about 35 miles north of Waco near Clifton/Whitney, TX. It's a free public park with parking near the boat ramp; the jumping rocks are a short walk along the shoreline. Heights run roughly 5 to 30 feet depending on which ledge and how high the lake is running, since Lake Whitney's level shifts seasonally with reservoir operations. After jumping, swim to the sloped bank on one side or use a rope ladder on the other to climb back up. A second nearby cliff locals call Soldier's Bluff offers similar heights. There's no lifeguard, the rock gets slick when wet, and water depth below any given ledge isn't posted.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
