About this spot
East Clear Creek, about ten minutes southeast of Winslow, Arizona near McHood Park, is a well-known deep-water-soloing and cliff-jumping canyon with sites ranging roughly 10 to 70 feet, including named spots locals call Crown and Dinosaur near Flat Rock. From AZ-87, take the McHood Park turnoff and continue past the park about seven miles to a bridge; a dirt road just north leads to a parking area, from which a short walk reaches the river marked by a spray-painted batman symbol. Water level and clarity vary seasonally with reservoir releases and rainfall, so check current flow and depth before jumping; submerged rock and fluctuating levels are the main hazard here.
