Horsetooth Reservoir's east-shore hogback, near Rotary Park off Shoreline Drive west of Fort Collins, has rocky cliffs where jumpers gather in warm months — documented across years of videos and local guides showing gainers, flips, and everything in between into the reservoir's deep water. Be aware this is officially illegal: Larimer County prohibits cliff jumping and diving throughout Horsetooth Reservoir Park, calling it extremely dangerous, though that hasn't stopped a steady stream of jumpers. Water depth and visible rock vary with the reservoir's level, which fluctuates seasonally with irrigation demand, so what's a clean landing one month can be shallow the next. Rotary Park's rock is also a popular bouldering area, so expect to share the cliffs with climbers. Jump entirely at your own legal and physical risk.
