About this spot

This Portlock location on Oahu features a primary jump of approximately 40 feet. To reach it from Honolulu, head east on H1 in the direction of Hanauma Bay. Turn right onto Nawiliwili Street as you approach the end of Hawaii Kai, then left on Poipu. Continue left on Moloaa before turning right onto Lumahai. Watch for a marked public right-of-way passage positioned between two residential properties on your right where you can leave your vehicle and proceed on foot down to the site. Conditions here are heavily influenced by daily wave patterns. When significant wave action is present and water strikes the cliff face, the situation becomes hazardous, which explains the location's name. Plan your visit with attention to ocean conditions before attempting any jumps.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
