About this spot

Head west on Big Bay Road from Lake Shore Boulevard and continue until you spot the Little Presque Isle marker. Park in the designated lot and proceed to the beach. Wade through approximately 2 feet of water to reach the island. Follow the established path along the eastern side of the island to its terminus. From there, descend toward the rocks on the eastern side to discover the jumping area. The site features multiple cliff options ranging from 13 to 50 feet in height. A 21-foot jump requires significant outward distance to clear the rocks and land safely in the gap between them. The 50-foot option demands landing between two rock formations positioned roughly 5 feet apart. The site tends to attract numerous visitors and offers good social atmosphere. Returning to the top of the cliffs is straightforward. Be prepared for Lake Superior's characteristically cold water temperatures, though conditions can occasionally be warmer. Climbers find it convenient to exit and return to the jumping platform.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
