About this spot
Emerald Pool Falls is one of seven small waterfalls along the free Brook Walk trail in the Castle in the Clouds Conservation Area, reached by an easy walk from the Route 171/Pamela's Terrace parking area. It drops roughly 13 feet in two short cascades into a pool visitor accounts describe as deep enough to jump into from the surrounding rocks. This is a different, smaller feature than the well-known cliff-jumping Emerald Pool in Chatham, NH near Baldface Circle Trail - don't confuse the two. Water is cold spring-fed runoff even in summer, and wet rock underfoot is the main hazard. Hiking the conservation area's trails is free.
