About this spot
This is a lake-facing bluff on the New York shore of Lake Champlain, roughly across the water from the Basin Harbor Club near Ferrisburgh, VT, between Essex and Westport. It's boat-access only in practice - no maintained trail or public parking reaches the top - so most jumpers arrive by kayak or by paying for Basin Harbor's boat shuttle. The main ledge runs 80-90 feet with a sheer, mostly unobstructed drop into water reported near 60 feet deep, though lake levels shift about 10 feet across the season, so treat exact height and depth as variable. Lower ledges from 1-10 feet give a gentler entry. Confirm current water level and watch for boat traffic before jumping.
