About this spot
Cherry Cove Falls is a roughly 25 ft cascade on a tributary in Pisgah National Forest near Balsam Grove, NC. Reached via a bushwhack off FS 140/the Summey Cove Trail area off NC 215 (FS 140 is sometimes gated, adding mileage). No developed trail, parking, or facilities; expect a faint path and creek scrambling. No documented swimming or jumping culture — treat wet rock at the base as slick, and be cautious of unstable footing above the drop. Best after rain for flow; low water much of the year.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
