About this spot

Remote ~50-ft, multi-drop waterfall off Tanasee Gap Road/FR5324 near Balsam Grove. The hike is rated hard-plus: about 5.2 miles round trip with a steep, 300-ft off-trail gully descent to the creek (and the same climb back out). Documented mainly on dedicated NC waterfall-hunting sites, not general travel guides. No swimming or jumping culture is mentioned anywhere found -- this reads as a waterfall-bagging destination for experienced hikers, not an established swim spot.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
