About this spot
A modest 20-foot waterfall just off US-276 in Pisgah National Forest's Forest Heritage Scenic Byway, past Looking Glass and Moore Cove Falls. Reached by a short, easy trail (under half a mile round trip) from a small roadside pull-off, with a steep final descent to the base and no obvious trailhead signage. Quieter than its more famous neighbors. No documented swimming or jumping culture; fallen trees along the path are the main hazard noted by hikers.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
