About this spot
Skinny Dip Falls, off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Looking Glass Rock (NC), was long a beloved swimming hole with a jump rock — but Tropical Storm Fred (2021) washed out the pool and the jump feature, and reports since say the deep water has not returned. Treat older videos and guides as out of date: check current conditions before planning a swim, and don't jump into what is now shallow, debris-strewn water.
