About this spot
Case Falls is a real, modest waterfall in the Big Hungry River area southeast of Hendersonville, reached from a shared trailhead off Big Hungry Road (via Exit 53 off I-26 and Upward Road) that also serves Briefcase Falls, Lower Briefcase Falls, and Lower Falls on Hungry River. Hikers describe it as mossy and rainforest-like, reached by a bushwhack rather than a formal trail. Tropical Storm Helene (Sept. 2024) caused severe damage to the Hungry River corridor just downstream, so current creek and trail conditions may differ from older trip reports. No swimming-hole or cliff-jumping culture is documented for this specific falls.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
