About this spot
Unofficial name for a remote cascade on an unnamed stream draining Spice Cove, on the west side of the North Fork French Broad River near Lake Toxaway. Lidar estimates put it around 50 ft; it hasn't been closely measured in person. Reaching it means following an old roadbed down to the river and wading across -- there's no reliable low-water crossing, and waterfall guides call it not worth the effort for casual visitors. No swimming or jumping culture is documented; this reads as a bushwhacker's curiosity rather than an established swim spot.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
