About this spot

Upper Long Creek Falls is one of a string of named drops on Long Creek in the Andrew Pickens Ranger District, upstream of the well-known 50 ft Long Creek Falls swimming hole near the Chattooga River. There is no marked trail to the upper falls - visitors need off-trail hiking and map-reading skill to reach it safely. The lower, main Long Creek Falls has a documented plunge pool where hikers swim, but reports specific to the Upper drop are thin. Expect slippery rocks, steep descents, and cold, rocky terrain; hikers on this creek system have reported falls and injuries on the approach.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
