About this spot

City Lake Falls sits inside Cookeville's City Lake Natural Area, an easy paved 0.6-mile round-trip walk from the parking area. The karst-spring waterfall is modest, roughly 6 feet, feeding into City Lake below. Visitors picnic, fish, and swim in the calm lake itself rather than jump from the falls, and an arboretum path with labeled trees runs alongside. It is well documented as a popular, family-friendly, easily accessible city park stop, but there is no cliff-jumping culture attached to it — this reads as a wading and lake-swimming destination, not a jump spot.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
