About this spot
Waterloo Falls is a 35-foot falls on Spring Creek about 15 minutes north of Cookeville, TN, operated as a paid river-access venue (Waterloo Venue & Events) rather than a free public spot. Day passes (roughly $10/adult, $5/child) are sold online and cover both Waterloo Falls and the wider, shallower Upper Waterloo Falls upstream; the property has restrooms, picnic areas, and leashed-dog access. It's a genuine, well-reviewed swimming destination rather than a big cliff jump, with a plunge pool below the falls and calmer water upstream for wading. Access is cut off on days the venue hosts private events, and conditions can change fast after rain, so check ahead. Bring water shoes — the ledge rock stays slick.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
