About this spot

Fancher Falls, also known as Taylor Creek Falls, plunges roughly 80 to 110 feet into the Taylor Creek arm of Center Hill Lake near Cookeville, Tennessee. Unlike most spots, there is no hiking trail — it's reached only by kayak, canoe, or boat, typically a short paddle from the Cookeville boat dock or nearby marinas. The base forms a well-known swimming hole for paddlers, with rock ledges beside the falls used for jumping into deep lake water. Lake levels fluctuate with reservoir management, changing effective jump heights and exposing submerged rock season to season, so check current lake levels and jump conservatively. No fees or facilities; land-based visitors cannot reach it without a paddle craft or boat.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
