About this spot

Little Falls is the second of four waterfalls on the Falling Water River at Burgess Falls State Park near Sparta, TN, about 30 feet high and visible from the River Trail loop a short walk past Falling Water Cascades; a remnant pipeline bridge nearby recalls the gorge's industrial past. The park is free and open daily. As with the rest of the gorge, park guidance is that swimming is dangerous and not permitted here due to strong current, slick rock, and submerged hazards — the water is for viewing, not wading or jumping. No documented swim or jump culture exists for this specific fall.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
