About this spot
Lost Creek Falls, in Lost Creek State Natural Area near Sparta, drops roughly 40-60 feet from a sinkhole spring into a pool before the creek vanishes underground again into Lost Creek Cave. It's a short 0.16-mile walk from the parking lot and was a filming location for Disney's 1994 'The Jungle Book.' One guide lists cliff jumping among the area's draws, but this is not corroborated by the state natural-area page or other write-ups, which focus on wading and viewing. Cave terrain and wet rock nearby carry real slip-and-fall hazard, and access can be seasonal.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
