About this spot

Blue Hole Falls sits about 0.7 miles into the Grundy Forest Day Loop Trail in South Cumberland State Park, just outside Tracy City. A short cascade on Little Fiery Gizzard Creek drops into a clear blue-green pool ringed by sandstone, a well-documented swimming stop on one of the Cumberland Plateau's most-hiked loops (700+ trail reviews). The pool is deep enough for a dip and popular for wading, sunbathing on the rocks, and hammocking; some visitors scramble onto the low ledges above it, though no source documents established jump heights. Parking at the small Grundy Forest lot fills fast on summer weekends. Rocks stay slick with spray year-round and creek levels swing quickly after rain, so check flow before swimming. It's a state natural-area day-use site with no lifeguard, free and open to the public.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
