About this spot

From Route 17, take Poplar Road (the only available turn). Continue 1.4 miles and turn right onto Kellogg Mill Road. Follow Kellogg Mill Road for approximately 2.5 miles. When the lake becomes visible, a gravel road will appear on your left leading to a parking area. This turnoff occurs just before a bridge crossing—if you cross the bridge, you've gone too far. Turn around and take the first right after crossing the bridge. The walk from the parking lot to the cliffs is roughly three-quarters of a mile. Boaters can paddle directly to the cliffs by going under the bridge. For those without watercraft, walk back to the road, cross the bridge, and look for no parking signs on the right side. A trail enters the woods at this location and leads directly to the smaller cliff. From there, a brief swim reaches the larger jump, though the trail also continues to it. Between the two main formations are intermediate rock jumps around 10 feet tall. Local names refer to them as 35 and 65 feet, though estimates suggest the larger formation ranges from 55 to 60 feet. A rope swing is located just beyond the larger jump; it's been set quite high and requires effort to access. The site is part of a reservoir where swimming is technically prohibited, though enforcement is minimal. This location attracts many visitors and can become crowded. The area has aesthetic appeal when maintained, so leaving it clean is appreciated.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
