About this spot

Take Route 17 to Poplar Road (single turn option available). Continue 1.4 miles and bear right onto Kellog Mill Road for approximately 2.5 miles. When the lake comes into view, a gravel access road appears on your left leading to a parking area. This turnoff is positioned just before a bridge crossing; if you pass the bridge, circle back and take the first right after crossing it. The walk from the lot to the cliff area spans roughly three-quarters of a mile. The location draws kayakers regularly, so expect a congested parking situation. Those with watercraft can paddle under the bridge directly to the cliffs. Without a boat, return to the road, cross the bridge, and locate the trailhead marked by several no parking signs on the right side. This path leads into forest and arrives at the smaller of the two main jumps. A brief swim connects to the larger cliff, though the trail also continues overland to reach it. Small rocky outcroppings around 10 feet high sit between the two primary formations. Local references cite heights of 35 and 65 feet, though the taller formation likely measures 55 to 60 feet. A rope swing installation exists beyond the larger jump, positioned at considerable height requiring significant effort to access. As a reservoir, official swimming restrictions apply, though enforcement is minimal. High visitor volume means the site frequently experiences crowding and litter issues; maintaining cleanliness helps preserve the location.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
