Kyle's Landing is a real, well-documented access point on the Buffalo National River near Jasper, Arkansas, reached via a steep two-mile gravel road off Highway 74 (Newton County Rd 2300) that can wash out in heavy rain. The campground sits beneath bluffs reported up to 440 feet, with swimming holes and jump points along lower riverside ledges. The Park Service does not officially sanction bluff jumping; the real hazard is striking submerged rocks in shifting river-bottom depth, and the limestone/sandstone bluffs are crumbly and slippery when wet. A documented case of a jumper suffering a spinal fracture here underscores the risk — always scout depth from the bank first.
