About this spot

This is Brownstone Adventure Sports Park (site of the historic, National Historic Landmark Portland Brownstone Quarries), a paid commercial park at 161 Brownstone Ave in Portland, CT, open daily in summer with posted hours and ticket pricing. Two staffed, designated jump platforms are offered - about 18 feet and 30 feet, the 30-foot one restricted to ages 18 and up - while the flooded quarry's natural brownstone walls rise 80 to 100 feet but are off-limits to jumpers. The spring-fed water is reportedly very deep and clear. Lifeguards, ropes courses, ziplines, wakeboarding, and scuba areas share the site. As a managed facility, freelance jumping outside the marked platforms is not permitted.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
