About this spot
Waimano Falls (also called Waimano Pools) is a real, roughly 40-foot waterfall reached by hiking from the end of Komo Mai Drive in Aiea/Pearl City: park near the circular turnaround, pass the gate, and follow the marked trail about 1.25 miles down into the valley to two connected pools. The pin marks this trailhead, not the falls themselves, which sit under forest canopy further in. The lower, deeper pool has old, unmaintained rope swings — use at your own risk. Always check depth before jumping since it varies with recent rainfall and has been too shallow at times. Rocks are slippery, the valley is remote with slow rescue access, and the trail is best after light rain, not heavy storms.
