About this spot
Hawk Falls is a 25-foot cascade on Hawk Run in Hickory Run State Park, reached via an easy 1.2-mile round-trip trail from a marked lot on PA Route 534 near Albrightsville. The falls drop into a rock-rimmed pool below a ledge that draws crowds every summer for wading and photos. Multiple trip reports and the park itself confirm people regularly jump from the surrounding rocks despite an official ban: rangers patrol actively and issue citations, with fines over $100, for swimming and jumping here. The real hazard is submerged rock and a shallow landing zone, not depth; slippery approach trails add to the risk. Treat this as an illegal, enforced spot: expect a ticket, not a lifeguard.
