About this spot

Onoko Falls (aka Middle Falls), the tallest of three named falls in the famous Glen Onoko gorge near Jim Thorpe, PA, dropping close to 60 feet. The trail was officially closed by the PA Game Commission in 2019 after repeated fatal falls, and posted bilingual signs state it is "not a designated swimming area" — yet drownings of swimmers have still occurred here in recent years. Real, historically popular, but legally and physically hazardous; verify current trail status before visiting.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly.
