About this spot
Local jumpers call this cliff Peace Rock, on the Schuylkill River at the Schuylkill Gap through Blue Mountain, about 3 miles north of Hamburg, PA. From Reading, take Route 61 north through Hamburg, bear left at the Y to stay on 61, cross two bridges, then turn onto the road signed Schuylkill Water Gap near Port Clinton and park roadside. A trail on the right drops to a beach; the rock sits directly across the river, so plan to swim over and back. Jumps run roughly 8-28 ft, with some jumpers reportedly going off higher ledges near 45 ft — heights are community-reported, not agency-verified. No formal permit or lifeguard; it's an informal, heavily used local spot with real drowning risk from current and submerged rock.
