About this spot

This Mill Creek Falls is a roughly 25-30-foot cascade on the upper end of Lake Jocassee near Salem, SC (Oconee County) — a different, boat-access-only waterfall from the smaller trail falls of the same name inside Table Rock State Park. Launch from Devils Fork State Park and idle up the Mill Creek arm. Multiple boating guides describe it as a go-to stop for a picnic and a swim right up to the base of the falls, with the drop growing taller as lake levels fall through the season. A rock face directly behind the falls blocks passing behind it, and footing on the submerged rock apron is slick, so wear water shoes and wade in rather than jumping blind.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
