About this spot
Likely part of the Wild Hog Creek falls cluster near Rocky Bottom/Sunset, SC (Jocassee Gorges WMA off US-178); World Waterfall Database lists a 45-ft Hog Wild Cave Falls in Pickens County with an associated cave. Trip reports describe this as entirely off-trail bushwhacking through poison ivy, briars, and rhododendron, with a rope recommended to reach waterfall bases and slick rocks causing falls. Real and remote, but expert-only backcountry access with no documented swim/jump culture.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
