About this spot

Indian Flats Falls is a four-tier cascade dropping about 60 feet total, reached via an unmarked spur off the Middle Prong Trail beginning at the Tremont Trailhead in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, roughly 3.8 miles in. Multiple hiking guides describe each tier's enclosed pool as ideal for swimming and wading, making it a quieter alternative to the park's busier waterfalls. The out-and-back hike follows Lynn Camp Prong with rocky, sometimes overgrown footing near the spur. Main hazards: unmarked, eroded approach and slick rocks around the pools; cell service is unreliable this deep in the park. No fees required; day-use only, and the remote setting means fewer people around if help is needed.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
