About this spot

A ~50-60 ft waterfall on Road Prong Creek in GSMNP, 0.4 miles below Talking Falls on the same Road Prong Trail (~2.2-2.6 mile round trip from Chimney Tops trailhead). One hiking account describes a deep basin pool at its base 'ideal for summer swims,' but this claim isn't independently corroborated elsewhere the way Talking Falls' pool is — treat swim culture here as single-source. Same GSMNP hazards and jumping ban apply as elsewhere in the park.

Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly. CliffScout is community-sourced reference information, not a guarantee a spot is safe. Always assess the conditions yourself before jumping, and never jump where you're unsure. You assume all risk.
