About this spot
Laie Point State Wayside Park, on Oahu's North Shore, is the real cliff-jump site featured in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Access is via Kamehameha Highway (83) at La'ie, turning onto Anemoku Street to the end of Naupaka Street, with parking near the point. The movie's jump is on the right side, roughly 30 feet, though other spots along the point reportedly run up to 40-60 feet depending on conditions. Water is often shallow with submerged rocks, there is no lifeguard, and at least one jumping-related death has been reported here, prompting local calls for warning signs. Only attempt this in calm summer surf, and always check depth before jumping.
