About this spot
This pin sits at the Mokule'ia (north shore/Waialua) trailhead into Ka'ena Point State Park, past Camp Erdman and Dillingham Airfield, not on the Waianae side as an earlier description claimed. A rough coastal trail leads along dramatic lava coastline to sandy-bottomed coves locals sometimes use for jumping and snorkeling. Conditions are highly changeable: strong currents, surge, and sharp rock make the water dangerous outside calm summer swells, and the point is a protected natural area reserve with sensitive wildlife (monk seals, nesting albatross), so stay on trail where possible. There are no lifeguards or facilities beyond the trailhead parking.
Safety first. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous and can cause serious injury or death. Conditions — water depth, submerged hazards, and access — change constantly.
